The PADI Open Water Diver (OWD) course is the first internationally recognized step into the world of diving. It is designed for anyone who wants to explore the underwater world safely, confidently, and accompanied by a professional instructor. You will learn the basics of working with diving equipment, dive planning, important safety procedures, and gain skills that will allow you to dive to a depth of up to 18 meters anywhere in the world.
With this certification, doors open to unforgettable experiences – from the coral reefs of the Red Sea to diving on holidays worldwide. Upon completion, you will gain access to further courses (Advanced, specialties, Nitrox, etc.), and most importantly, you’ll gain a new hobby and many friends!
PADI Open Water Diver Course
With us in Hurghada, the course takes place in a relaxed holiday atmosphere – from shore or boat, depending on specific conditions and participants’ needs, the sea has pleasant year-round temperatures, with excellent visibility. Here you will fall in love with diving!
Location: Hurghada, Egypt
Dives are conducted from shore or a dive boat, depending on the course progress and weather conditions.
Course duration: 3 to 4 days, depending on your abilities and the group’s pace.
The price includes:
- Complete course according to PADI standards
- International PADI certification
- Rental of complete equipment
- Stay on the dive boat during the course, 12L air tanks, weights, and all crew services
- Refreshments and lunch on the boat during the course

Three main parts of the course according to PADI standards:
1. Theoretical preparation
We will cover the basics of physics, physiology, safety, and dive planning.
This part takes approximately 5-10 hours and can be completed online in advance (eLearning) or here in Hurghada on-site. It includes videos, manuals, quizzes, and a final exam.
2. Confined water dives

We will practice basic diving skills and safety procedures in a controlled environment. You will learn to handle every component of the equipment – mask, BCD, regulator…
3. Open water dives
(open water dives)
A minimum of 4 training dives in the sea to a depth of 12 meters, maximum 18 meters. The training will be interspersed with experience dives at beautiful Red Sea locations. We will verify the mastered skills under our constant supervision.
What to bring
- Medical certificate of fitness for recreational diving (if you have previous illnesses or chronic diagnoses)
- Copy of travel document
- Swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a good mood
All equipment is provided free of charge as part of the course – including BCD, regulator, wetsuit, fins, mask, weights, and tanks.
If you have your own trusted mask, fins, or other pieces of equipment, you can bring them and use them during the course.
Recommended preparation:
Start eLearning in the PADI app before arriving in Hurghada (access will be sent upon request and payment of a 50% deposit for the course)
During your study, if questions arise, we are available online. We can conduct 2-3 online sessions where we will go through topics, your tests, and prepare for the practical part.

What are the requirements to enroll in the OWD course?
The minimum age is 10 years, you must be medically fit for diving and able to stay afloat.
How long does the course take?
The course usually lasts 3 – 4 days, during which you will cover theory, pool training, and four open water dives.
Will I need my own equipment?
It is not a requirement – we will provide you with complete diving equipment during the course. If you already have a mask, snorkel, or fins, you can use them.
Where does this certification allow me to dive?
With an OWD certification, you can dive to a depth of 18 meters anywhere in the world and rent equipment or participate in dive trips.
What if I don't feel comfortable during a dive?
We will always be by your side, and we learn everything gradually. You will practice each skill in a safe environment until you feel ready to proceed.
