The Rescue Diver course is rightly considered one of the most important milestones in a diving career. It’s not just another step in certification – it’s a complete mindset shift. You’ll learn to anticipate problems, manage emergency situations, provide assistance to tired or panicking divers, and act quickly but calmly.

What you’ll learn

 

Prevent accidents underwater and on the surface

Respond to exhaustion, panic, or a lost diver

Lead search and rescue operations

Provide assistance in an accident, including out-of-air ascents

Coordinate diver rescue on the surface and their removal from the water

Communicate effectively in stressful situations

 

 

Who this course is for

 

For all certified Advanced Open Water Divers (or equivalent)

Must be at least 12 years old (more is recommended)

Valid EFR – Emergency First Response course (or another first aid course within the last 24 months)

Theory (independently via e-learning or with an instructor)

Practical scenarios on land and in water

EFR – Emergency First Response

 

First aid course for divers and everyday life

The EFR course is an integral part of Rescue Diver training – and also a practical life skill. It teaches you how to react correctly in case of an accident, injury, or emergency, whether underwater or on land.

 

What you’ll learn

Fundamentals of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Providing first aid in case of accident or unconsciousness

Using an automated external defibrillator (AED)

Managing shock, bleeding, fractures, burns

Providing secondary care (secondary first aid)

Responding in various simulated situations
